The next generation of Operators Location: Frank Bonelli Park, at Sail Boats Cove.
I was told Wesley 12 years old, made the most contacts last weekend. He presented him self very well and responsibly. Wesley always asked me, can you hear them now on the radio? When I said yes, he dashed right to the radio, and started contesting.
Jessica was around 13-14
years old, and was working my 2 meter
station, using a 706 MK2G, and a 9 element 2 meter
M-square beam. The beam was raised about 15 feet
high. She presented her self very well and responsibly,
and made lots of contacts on my station as well. I would
personally give both of these kids an excellent reference if they ever
need one. I felt good working with these kids, giving
then the opportunity to get more hands on experience. Some people said I was Elm ring that weekend, and that put a smile on my face. We all enjoyed another Year of Field day, Sharing ones thoughts, ideas, and making this weekend fun, and enjoyable, especially for the Guests. 73, from the Field Day Radio Team, and Assistant Crews.
