PRADO REGIONAL PARK in Chino, CA

Field Day 2009 is in The Books:

Brad, KC6NNV our Field Day Chairman mentioned the bands were very kind to amateurs with even six meters working double hops.

It wasn’t just the fact that the band conditions were very good. We had members who did a lot of hard work to make this event a real success.

Field day is all about communication but without equipment like radios, antennas, coax and all of the ancillary tools, power and hardware it couldn’t happen.

We had a wonderful mix of experienced operators and first timers working the world. Every one seem to have fun at Field day.

Brad wants to give thanks to all for their support, presence and good will including those just dropping by to add moral support. That was extremely important.

He also thanked Bob Mueller, Ken Berglof, Gene & Chris Hoelzle, Charles Brewer and Drew Van Lahr and all who brought, assembled, and worked so hard to get our stations on the air.

He also gave Charles Brewer, KG6NID a big hand for finding and securing the site for use, and reserving the sites for next year as well, and a huge thanks to a relatively new Member – Andrew Van Lahr. His Mom & Dad call him Andy…. Friends call him Drew…. Brad call him Master Chef. Drew is the one that gets credit for the dinner planning, fixing, preparation, and with Alvin Banman even the shopping. Drew got rave reviews from all.

Brad also gave a special thanks to Carl Gardenias, ARRL Orange Section Manager, for attending and helping to insure that we get all of the points possible. Carl's presence helps us understand that we are a strong part of the greater Amateur Radio Community. It was good to see you again.

Brads final note,

We hit our main goal…..
