The Beginning of TCARA Main page :: Introduction page Tri-County Amateur Radio Association - sprang from the Citrus Belt Radio Club which was organized in 1915. It is believed to be the third amateur radio club formed in Southern California. World War I - closed down the activities, and the club was not reactivated until 1927, when the name was changed to Tri-County Amateur Radio Association. Curtailment of radio operations during World War II, resulted in another period of inactivity, but activity was resumed in 1946 and the club has seen consistent growth.
