March program

Electrical Safety in the Shack, presented by, Charlie Bashen N6DZW.

Click on his Bio:

Electric Safety in the Shack Building and operating a ham radio station is a perfectly safe pastime. However, inattention and carelessness can lead to severe injury, burns or even death by electrocution.

You may recall that last October three family members in a Florida ham radio operator’s household were killed when the antenna they were installing in the dark fell into overhead powerlines. It was a tragic accident that should never have happened.

Our March presenter is Charles Basham, N6DZW, the Manager of Public Safety for Southern California Edison. Charlie will talk to us about the very basics of electric safety for in the shack, outdoors and especially during Field Day.

Charles is an Extra Class ham who grew up in Pomona and was a member of Tri County ARA more than 40 years ago when he was a novice.
