STORY OF GEORGE DYNES, K6GMV

George Dynes, K6GMV

Was a Talented Amateur Radio operator, and one of our 6 Meter gurus.

I often wondered, how did George know beforehand, that we were going to have a 6 Meter opening; he never used a computer.

George devoted one of his greatest talents in "Ham Radio." For about 50+ years, he gave his devoted time and efforts, plus shared 6 meter reports with all of us, even on the Nets he attended through the years.

George belonged to a club called "Tri-County Amateur Radio Association" and volunteered as a trainer, and a number of activities on the Board over the years.

At one of our general club meetings, George shared with us, all of his QSL cards, and Contact logs he collected over the years and saved them.

When you asked him a question regarding an installation of antennas, you could count on George every time. If you needed a 6 Meter report from George, he gave an excellent report.

He inspired many Ham Radio Operators, and made lots of friends all over the United States and even abroad over the years.

He will always be remembered as one of our 6 Meter gurus and mentors.

George was born March 30, 1917 and died of long-term complication on April 5, 2006 at the age of 89.
